Chili Cheese Dog Bake – The Ultimate Comfort Food!
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep the Buns
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Place the attached hot dog buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Hollow Out the Buns
- Use a knife to cut a rectangle shape inside each bun, leaving about 1 cm from the edges.
- Press down the cut-out bread to compact it into the bottom of each bun—this helps hold the fillings better and reduces mess.
3. Brush with Garlic Butter
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, and parsley.
- Brush the inside and outside of each bun with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake for 5 minutes to toast the buns and help them hold their shape.
4. Assemble the Chili Cheese Dogs
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese inside each bun.
- Spoon some chili into each bun.
- Snugly place a hot dog on top of the chili.
- Top with more chili for extra flavor!
5. Bake & Serve
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
- Slice along the seams to separate each chili cheese dog.
- Serve & enjoy!
