Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep the Buns

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Place the attached hot dog buns in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Hollow Out the Buns

  1. Use a knife to cut a rectangle shape inside each bun, leaving about 1 cm from the edges.
  2. Press down the cut-out bread to compact it into the bottom of each bun—this helps hold the fillings better and reduces mess.

3. Brush with Garlic Butter

  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, and parsley.
  2. Brush the inside and outside of each bun with the garlic butter mixture.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes to toast the buns and help them hold their shape.

4. Assemble the Chili Cheese Dogs

  1. Place a slice of cheddar cheese inside each bun.
  2. Spoon some chili into each bun.
  3. Snugly place a hot dog on top of the chili.
  4. Top with more chili for extra flavor!

5. Bake & Serve

  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  2. Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  3. Slice along the seams to separate each chili cheese dog.
