Blueberry Biscuits Recipe – Buttery, Flaky & Bursting with Flavor!
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Make the Biscuit Dough
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar.
- Cut the cold butter into small cubes and work it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. (Avoid overmixing to keep the biscuits tender!)
- Gently fold in the blueberries, being careful not to crush them.
2. Shape the Biscuits
- Lightly flour a surface and turn out the dough.
- Pat the dough down to about ½ inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter (or a round glass) to cut out biscuits and place them close together on the baking sheet.
3. Bake to Perfection
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before adding the glaze.
4. Make the Glaze
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over warm biscuits for the perfect finishing touch.
